Well, probably starting tomorrow, the worst part of moving to the dorms will commence - packing!! That's right, I have to choose which of my possessions I will take with me to my little room, and which I will leave behind. I always take too many books. It's not like I read all of them, but I keep them around in case of boredom. I guess I'm lucky in that I live in the same town as my college. That means I can take things back, or bring things there, as needed. If I was going to school out of state, I'd have to choose what I wanted to bring, and live with that decision. It probably won't be too much longer before I do the bigger job: moving EVERYTHNG I own into an apartment. Won't that be fun!
One of the coolest things about moving into the dorms is the moment you open the door to your room and see it in its nakedness. It looks so clean, and what you are thinking is "this is MY space to do what I want with." It's like a blank canvas. After a while you get used to your room, but nothing beats that first few minutes when you're in there and realize you now LIVE there.
