Welcome to the pond

I've got a cold, so that explains the lack of updates. Well, that and the fact that there is NOTHING going on lately.

The song of the week is Dixie Chicks version of "Landslide", a cover of a Fleetwood Mac song. I saw the video for this the other day, and I just love it. Dixie Chicks are probably my favorite country group, if I have one. Their vocals are just amazing, no "whininess" that you get with other country artists. And they play their own instruments, instruments that are historically significant in American music history. It's a combination that can't be easily beat. So check that song out, as well as all the other Dixie Chicks songs.

I'm gonna try something tonight, I think. I'll listen to some selected music tracks, nothing too upbeat though. More reflective songs are in order for this exercise. After I listen to them, I'll sit down and write a poem based on how the music made me feel and what kinds of images go into my head. So look for that, if I actually do it.
