Today I gave myself a little present for all the hard work I've done now that I'm pretty much done with college: "Dizzy Up The Girl" by the Goo Goo Dolls. Definitely an INCREDIBLE album, at least when Johnny Rzeznik is singing. I'm not really that happy with the songs where Robby Takac sings. It's not that I don't like the songs, but I feel that his four songs (well, maybe with the exception of "Full Forever", which I can imagine Johnny singing) don't fit with the rest of the album. They mostly sound punk, and if I wanted a punk album I'd buy one. But they are still good, fun songs with awesome guitar playing.

And I've found a song on this album that possibly beats out Coldplay or even the Goo Goos' "Iris." That song is Acoustic #3 and it will make me cry someday.

And please, no comments from those who accuse me of not respecting the Goos' earlier, heavier work because of what I said about Robby's songs above. I just happen to enjoy the softer songs with Johnny's amazing voice. And I'd probably like Robby's songs better if they sounded like the songs on the rest of the album. But I may change my mind, so I'll just say that it's music, and music is good.
