A Note To My Newer Readers
I'm sure there are many people browsing my blog from Blog Explosion and other places who are wondering why on earth I'm posting long-winded reviews of a band they've never heard of. I'm sure that's keeping many people from reading the rest of my blog because they just don't care to read that much. Well, I feel that I should explain what I'm doing for the benefit of people who come here and wonder what kind of fool would post such long posts.
I'm a huge music fan. One of my favorite groups is BeauSoleil, which is a famous Cajun music group and a good one at that. About a month ago, I decided to update reviews of the BeauSoleil albums that I did in the past, and post them all on my blog so as to have easier access and have all my reviews located on one site. I own nine of BeauSoleil's albums (one of them is the band leader's solo album) so I've been reviewing all of them.
I realize that I write an awful lot, and that it's boring to read through all of those reviews. However, this is something I wanted to do and I feel it's my perogative to write what I wish on my own site. Fear not, because I have just posted my eighth review out of nine. Pretty soon, I'll be back to posting meme answers and random thoughts as I always do. If you're a new reader on my blog, I do aplogize for the long boring posts. You are more than welcome to skip over them and look at the other things I've been posting.
(If you don't really care too much about hearing more about BeauSoleil, read no further)
For the benefit of those who DO decide to read my reviews, I thought I'd post a handy guide to the members of the band so that you can know who I'm talking about in my reviews. The band consists of:
Michael Doucet (vocals, fiddle, mandolin, guitar). Michael is the lead singer and musician, spokesman for the group, and a guru on Cajun music in general. He's the man I talk about most in my reviews.
David Doucet (vocals, guitar). David is Michael's brother and sings ocassionally, and plays acoustic guitar.
Jimmy Breaux (accordion)
Billy Ware (percussion)
Tommy Alesi (drums)
Al Tharp (vocals, 2nd fiddle, bass, lots of other instruments)
I hope I haven't bored you all too much, and I hope you bear with me and see that my blog is more than just long album reviews. If you decide to keep reading, welcome and thank you! If you decide to move on, I understand.
