A Bunch Of Things In One Post

1) I'm thinking of making a spot on my sidebar where I'd put my absolute favorite links. Sort of a "best of the best," sites that I highly recommend. I'm not sure if people would be upset if I didn't put their site on that list, but I certainly appreciate all the people I link to. I just want to make it easier to lead people to sites that I think are awesome and should be read more. So if anyone thinks that's a good idea or bad idea, leave a comment and let me know.

2) I'm writing this while waiting for Blogger to load up the "make a new post" page. This annoys me to no end. I'm a bit sick of problems with their site and software - BUT, I still like Blogger even with the occasional screwup.

3) Today on the Ellen Degeneres Show, Ellen had an entire audience of families of soldiers in the U.S. military. She showed some video messages from their loved ones, and served them a Thanksgiving meal from Marie Callendars. As if that wasn't cool enough, she is sending each of them on a ten-day cruise!! I may not support the Iraq war, but I do admit that is very cool of her to do that.

4) I read in the paper today that the local bus service won't be running tomorrow. Not just running on a Sunday schedule, but not running at ALL. This doesn't affect me, but I can't help thinking of all those people whom it does affect. I guess those without transportation must either get a ride from someone, or stay at home on Thanksgiving. Those who need to make an emergency trip to the hospital must also either get a ride from someone, a neighbor maybe, or call for an expensive ambulance. I realize it's a holiday, but it's very disappointing to me to see a critical transportation service not available to those who need it.

6) HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!! Forget about your Atkins for one day and have a second helping of that yummy pumpkin pie!
