Time for the Midweek Music Meme:

Besides Auld Lang Syne, what song brings to mind the end of the year, or the beginning of the new?

At first I couldn't think of any song that reminded me of the end or beginning of a year, but the group I'm listening to right now inspired me to think of one. The Smashing Pumpkins' "Tonight Tonight" reminds me of the beginning of a new year, because the song is about starting fresh and taking advantage of endless possibilities. That's what it means to me, anyway, among other things. It's just a positive, uplifting song and that's the kind of song you need to start a new year.
