Here's a couple Friday memes for your enjoyment as well as mine. First up, the Top Five On Friday from The Music Memoirs:

Top 5 Songs That Can Put You To Sleep
(Interpret as you see fit, this could be songs that act like lullabies, songs that are boring or just songs that relax you)

1) "Aqueous Transmission" by Incubus. This is such a soothing, relaxing song. Possibly the most relaxing song ever recorded.

2) "Hallelujah" by Jeff Buckley. I'll probably get an earful about this from my friend Beth, but Hallelujah is so gentle and peaceful, at least as far as Jeff's vocal delivery. It's just you and Jeff and his guitar, and you can totally lose yourself in the music.

3) (tie) "Amber" and "Hypnotica" by the Afro Celt Sound System. Both very soothing songs that you can use to just chill out.

4) "CP-slatten/Vetleguten (Tune for CP/Lullaby for Vetle)" by Chateau Neuf (a Norwegian jazz-folk band). This is a dark, haunting medly ending with a sung lullaby. Of course, a lullaby is meant to put someone to sleep, so this song definitely puts me in a relaxing mood.

5) "Let You Down" by Dave Matthews Band. This is a soft, gentle song with good acoustic guitar and Dave singing very peacefully. Incredibly relaxing listening.

Honorable Mention: Pretty much anything on Damien Rice's "O" Nearly everything he sings is mellow!

I'm sure there are many more, but that's what comes to mind when I scan my CD collection.

Second meme is Friday's Feast:

Appetizer
Name 2 things you do that you consider beneficial to your health.
I drink a lot of water, and I try to take walks once in a while.

Soup
If you made a New Year's resolution, how's it going so far?
I did not make a New Year's resolution. Whether that means it's going well or going bad is completely up to you.

Salad
Name something that has happened lately that bothers you.
My good friend Jess isn't online cause she's working three jobs each day. That certainly bothers me! I miss her!

Main Course
What is your favorite quote, and who said it?
Oh I am SO bad with remembering quotes! If I can think of one or come across a good one, I'll put it here later if I don't forget.

Dessert
What do you collect?
I collect CDs!

Thanks for playing :) I love Hallelujah...I really love K.D. Lang's version too. It's a wonderful song, regardless of who's singing it.

Thanks for playing :)
