The solution to my problem was way easy! I just put a "|" in between the post page and comments link, and now they're separated and easy to find!!
Feel free to add comments to posts I've written before now as well as new posts. Comments only seem to be available for posts done in mid-2004 but not before that, so keep that in mind.
