Welcome to the pond

My uncle is a chef, and he recently was promoted to Executive Chef at his restaurant. The family went over to his place tonight to celebrate. We all braved the cold and wind and pigged out on hamburgers, hot dogs, salmon and more. We didn't start eating until nearly 8 o'clock, so I was STARVING by that time. I had not one but two plates of food and ate almost all of it.

After the food, we warmed up in the house and my uncle opened gifts from everyone congratulating him on his promotion. He got various chef-related gifts like oven mitts, an olive oil bottle and a clock for his office. My poor sister got bonked on the head after getting up from sitting right underneath the new mounted elk head in the living room. It's huge!

So, all in all it was an enjoyable but cold night and a good break from what usually goes on around here.
