I've been tagged to do a meme by Lady Starlight! In the spirit of the holidays, I'll cooperate.

Rules of the game: Post five weird and random facts about yourself, then at the end list the names of five people who are next in line to do this. Don't forget to leave a them comment that saying "You are tagged" in their blogs and tell them to read yours!

1) I have REALLY bad eyesight. I've had at least three eyeglass prescription changes in the last ten years. The lenses are quite thick at each end. I don't think things are gonna get any better as I age, unfortunately.

2) My feet didn't quite develop right when I was in the womb. On my right foot, the toe next to my pinkie toe curves underneath the toe to the left of it. It doesn't hurt or anything, because I'm quite used to it having lived my entire life with it that way.

3) When I was in high school, I received a few really special scholarships. One of them was given by the rotary club, and I was the only student in my school district to receive it! That's four high schools, each with at least a thousand students. Out of all those kids, I was the only one that won (it was only given to one student per district). My dad and I attended the award ceremony at a restaurant at the city airport one day during 1st period of school. I'll never forget that.

The second scholarship was given by my dad's union. I think all union children who were seniors in high school got that scholarship if they had a certain GPA. If I remember correctly, I was also one of the few to receive their "special" scholarship, which included a dinner and award ceremony at a very nice hotel in Portland. That was an awesome night!

4) I was a year older than everyone else in my grade for most of my school years. That's because I was selected for a special "pre-1st grade" class for the kids who, I suppose, needed a little extra attention or something. I'm not really sure why I was put in that class. I remember wanting to be in it when they asked me because of all the cool toys in the classroom! After that year, I went back to normal 1st grade with the kids who were a year younger than me.

I've been kind of embarassed about it, but who cares anymore? I'm over it, so that's why I'm sharing it.

5) I could mention here that I'm REALLY short, but I think most of you know that already. What I will put for this last fact is that, when I was around 9-12 years old, I was REALLY into rap and hip-hop. Stuff like MC Hammer, Fresh Prince, Kid'n'Play, and eventually stuff that was a little harder and more subversive. Sometimes I even tried to dress the part (and did NOT succeed!) Eventually I fell out of love with that style of music, especially as I progressed through high school. Now, I love just about every kind of music. I like a little bit of hip-hop, but a lot of it turns me off. It's just not me, ya know!

Ironically, back when I was a kid I thought it was NOT cool to like rock and roll. That was my parents' music, so I couldn't listen to it if I wanted to be cool and popular. Now, I'm a huge rock fan. I missed out on a lot, but I'm slowly catching up.

I'm not going to tag anyone for this. If you want to do it, go right ahead.
