Here's this week's Monday Music Mambo. The theme for the day is Dance Day:

1. Name five songs, of any genre, that have the word "dance" or "dancing" in the title.

"Let's Dance" by David Bowie
"The Safety Dance" by Men In Hats
"Dancing In The Streets" by Martha and the Vandellas
"Dancing Nancies" by Dave Matthews Band
"Tiny Dancer" by Elton John

2. Are you a good dancer, or do you have two left feet?

I am definitely not a good dancer.

3. How important do you think dancing ability is for a musician? Should they be encouraged to strut their stuff, or would you rather they just play the music?

I think dancing is important for pop artists because they're expected to put on a show. I think perhaps it's emphasized too much, though. When the vocals have to be faked so the artist can keep up with the dancing, that's just too much dancing.

For non-pop artists, it doesn't matter much and never really has.

4. What is your favorite music video that includes dancing?

"Weapon Of Choice" by Fatboy Slim. Who doesn't love Christopher Walken tap dancing around an empty hotel?
