I did a little more shopping today. First I went to a used bookstore in town (one with a lot of music books) and got a few books. One of them is a book about Jimi Hendrix written by two guys who worked with him in the studio. It should reveal a lot of interesting things about how Jimi made his music. I also got a couple random novels, because I want to get more novels to read. I also went to CD World and bought Coldplay's "A Rush Of Blood To The Head." Excellent CD, by the way. I just wish "Warning Sign" was a bit more acoustic, like the version I heard that made me fall in love with that song in the first place.
Here's a Take Me Back Tuesday:
Name three songs that never fail to make you change the station.
Pretty much anything by Britney Spears except "Toxic" and "Everytime."
"Cold" by Crossfade. Sorry, folks, I just don't like it.
"Crazy In Love" by Beyonce. Waaaaaaaay overplayed when it came out. I swear I have a bad physical reaction to those opening horns.
Name three artists that you wished you'd never heard.
I could do without the Backstreet Boys for sure. Also Barry Manilow. Finally, I'll say Sean Combs Puff Daddy P.Diddy Diddy
Name three albums that you wished you'd never bought after getting them home.
Well, these aren't albums that I wished I didn't buy RIGHT after getting them home, but they're albums I could do without. The first, which was sold a few years ago, was a two-disc compilation of Broadway songs. I went through a little Broadway phase during my senior year in HS/freshman year in college. Another is "Gems From Gershwin," which has various George Gershwin songs. None of them done by anyone famous. Another is "Hardanger Fiddle Music of Norway" by Knut Buen. I do like Hardanger fiddle, but not when it's done this slow. I haven't listened to the album in at least two or three years. Sorry, Knut.

There's a CD called The Glory Of Gershwin, that's done by more popular artists. In fact, Elvis Costello did a song for it.
It's more fun to here those standards sung by more familiar voices.
the one that always make me change the station is Black Eyed Peas "My Humps". well, that and anything by Creed. ick!
Agreed on the Britney. Toxic is my guilty pleasure, the only song I like by her pretty much. Everytime, yeah, is okay.
I agree with what our own Music Whore said above about The Glory of Gershwin CD. It's one of my favorites, very nice!
