It's the middle of the week, so it's time for a Mind Hump. I nearly forgot to post it last night. I was up VERY late when I finally remembered. I haven't missed a day yet!

1. What artist and/or band (or a few) makes you want to crank your stereo so the whole neighborhood can hear?

Afro Celt Sound System and Jimi Hendrix, mostly. Maybe the Smashing Pumpkins too.

2. What are a few of your favorite songs to crank on your stereo?

"Shadowman" "Mojave" "When I Still Needed You" and "Release", among others, by the Afro Celt Sound System

"Voodoo Child (Slight Return)" "Red House" "Fire" "Little Wing" "Purple Haze" "Bold as Love" among others, by Jimi Hendrix

"Sweet Home Alabama" by Lynyrd Skynyrd

"Cherub Rock" by Smashing Pumpkins

3. What artist or style of music do you NOT want to hear cranked up on a stereo?

Most southern rap! Sorry, can't stand it.

Pop country wouldn't be good either, unless it's Gretchen Wilson

4. What "stereo" do you use most often: regular stereo, DVD player, clock radio, computer, Ipod, or car stereo?

I mostly use my computer as a stereo. My little portable Discman comes in second.

southern rap???

Yeah, rap from the south (Atlanta, Houston, etc.) I find most of it to be violent, misogynistic and cartoonish. If I'm going to listen to rap, I want something with at least a little creativity and something resembling a message beyond "let's get drunk and screw".

I didn't even know that southern rap existed....lol I like a lot of rap though (or is it hiphop?), but I'm not sure if it's 'southern rap'....
