Most of today has been spent in frustration because my wireless internet connection wasn't very good and kept cutting in and out. One minute it would be working, and the next minute not working at all. Not a great way to spend a day. I think I've figured out a solution, though. I never knew the little antenna on the back of my computer (attached to the wireless card) moved around! I adjusted it a little and it connected right away. It's been working pretty good ever since, so maybe that's the fix to my problem!

I have a great link for all you electric guitar fans out there. Go to http://youtube.com/watch?v=zAG-kX_IlUw and watch Stevie Ray Vaughan perform the Jimi Hendrix masterpiece "Little Wing" as well as a short portion of "Third Stone From The Sun." The first is amazing, even better than the studio version. The second has a lot of innovative and just plain cool whammy bar action. I would have put the video in this post, but I'm not really sure how legal that is.

Lastly, I discovered something last night that will probably amuse only me, but it's still cool. I own a DVD with all of Weird Al Yankovic's music videos. One of them is a video called "Bob" in which Al does a parody of Bob Dylan and Dylan's video "Subterranean Homesick Blues." In the video, Al holds up big signs with the song's lyrics on them and throws them away after each line, just like Bob does. The phrases are random, funny and make no sense whatsoever. I thought that was all there is to it, until I started noticing a pattern in the lyrics: all the phrases on the cards are palindromes! That is, they are phrases that can be spelled the same forwards and backwards! Sample phrases are "Madam, I'm Adam" and "Do Geese See God" How cool is that? All those times I've watched the video, I've never noticed that. I feel so cool for noticing it, and now each viewing of the video brings me just a little more pleasure.

If you want to see the "Bob" video for yourself, it's on Youtube for now, located here.
