A few thoughts about tonight's "Supergroup" on VH1 before I go to bed:
- This show makes Sebastian Bach look like a real asshole! I don't know if any of the other members were doing any complaining, but the editors sure love to show Sebastian complaining about something or other. Sometimes I can see his side, and other times I wish he would just shut up and quit making everything about him. I guess you don't become a frontman without the ability to make everything about you.
- I agree with the band members that the P.R. people, fashion designers, etc. just DON'T GET IT! Ted Nugent doesn't NEED an "image makeover." He already has an image that works for him, so let him stick with it! These guys don't do things to have an image or make people like them - they just want to rock and be good at it! So far we've had three episodes of the show, and I've only seen the group practice three times total! Ok, Jason wasn't around for a few days, but couldn't they at least work on some riffs or lyrics as a group? This whole image and photography and P.R. thing that Doc McGee is having them do is kind of a waste of time if it gets in the way of the music. They only have 12 days for this, after all.
- I kind of liked the name "Fist," but I'm sure they'll find a better name.
- Scott Ian is dating Meat Loaf's daughter??!! Whoa! Hey, if Sebastian freaks out and wants to go running instead of sing, maybe they can get Meat Loaf to sing for them.
- Ok, Doc McGee is apparently not feeling the band's first original song. He thinks it's a great song for the 80s but not a great song for today. Well, hello, all of these guys except for Evan had their peak IN the 1980s! Their hearts lie with 1980s music. That's the kind of sound they're going to have! What does Doc want, Sebastian up on stage rapping? No way that's ever gonna happen. These guys already have enough fans to sustain them. They don't need to go after new ones with a new sound that isn't authentically them. The fans are going to expect something that sounds like what you'd get with Ted Nugent, Sebastian Bach, Scott Ian and Jason Bonham making music together. So I say let them make that music together and not worry about the songs fitting "today's sound." Today's sound largely sucks anyway.

For some reason I thought this show was going to be corny but when it's on I can't stop watching... I thought Sebastian was going to be a much cooler guy instead all he does (at least what they show) is complains. He cares about his image way too much, I don't know how much better running before pictures is going to make you. You are definitely right about the P.R. people, these musicians have their images set and there is no reason to change it. Lastly, I don't really like the name "Fist" so I am glad they want to change it. Great Post about a very enthralling show.
haven't watched the show, but I'm definitely curious to hear what those four would sound like together!
