Random thoughts for the day:

• I hate those new McDonald's commercials where the guy turns into a chicken after eating a McDonald's chicken sandwich. Okay, yes, it's funny when the guy wakes up with chicken feet and a beak for a nose. However, that doesn't make you WANT to eat the sandwich! What is McDonald's trying to tell you - if you eat our product you'll turn into an animal? Who approved these ads?
  

• I'm sure some of you remember me talking about the local radio station where the DJ locked himself in the studio for a whole week. Well, ever since that happened, the station has become much better! They're playing a great mix of old classics and newer stuff instead of the same 200 songs they were playing before. They're now playing stuff like Dave Matthews Band, Coldplay, Jack Johnson and the Goo Goo Dolls. It's become a station that plays rock from nearly all eras, and that's a great thing!

• History Detectives is back! It's the best show on television, ever. People write in with questions about an item or story they have, and one of the History Detectives comes out, meets them, and then tries to find out all they can about the object the person has. The program shows you all the places they travel to find out information as well as the methods they use to verify the facts they need to know. Obviously, they have a much bigger budget and more resources to use than an average person, but it's still cool to see them do what they do. The show is on Mondays at 9 on PBS here. I don't know what time it's on where you are, but check your local listings and watch it! It's worth your time.
