Today I bought the new Pearl Jam album. I wasn't really planning on getting a new CD this month, or was I really planning to ever buy a Pearl Jam album (aside, perhaps, from Ten). That all changed when I heard Pearl Jam's new jam-slamming single, "Life Wasted." Simply put, it's a rock song. It has heavy guitar riffs, growling and menacing vocals, and an actual guitar solo! Today's modern rock bands wouldn't know a good solo if it spit in their faces. There is such a void of good, heavy rock today that Pearl Jam's new material is a breath of fresh air to me. I can't get enough of the first two singles off their new album, so I decided to buy it. It's pretty good! So far, I'd give it a solid B+.
While at the mall buying that, I also went to the dollar store to see what they had, and ate lunch in the food court. I must have been hungry because I ate nearly the entire meal! Might not seem an accomplishment to you, but I have a small stomach. Overall it was a nice little afternoon outing.
