Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't blogged since Friday, but I had a pretty busy Saturday and a very busy Monday as well. I didn't really feel like doing a Flickr Fun Saturday, and I couldn't get into Blogger this morning to post the Random Ten.

I am back again, though, with the Monday Music Mambo. It's opinion day, so we must give our opinions on . . .

Country Music - Good in small doses. It was better in other times. Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson = Greatness.

The Beatles - Deserving of everything good that's ever been said about them. They were, basically, the first big and famous Rock Band, making them pioneers.

Synthesizers - They became popular in the 80s, and I hope they stay there. Unless they're used by a good rock band, in a supporting role.

Banjos - Classic instrument. They have a sound all their own. American roots music would be very different without them.

Ray Charles - Genius.

Heavy Metal - Good in small doses, unless that dose includes Black Sabbath. Sometimes over-the-top, but isn't that the whole point?

"Stairway To Heaven" - NOT the greatest song of all time. Go listen to "Let It Be" by The Beatles and then decide.

Violins - Amazing instrument. Important to most folk musics around the world. In the hands of the right person, a violin is just as good as an electric guitar.

Bruce Springsteen - The Boss. He's hard to understand sometimes, but I guess that's what you get from a student of Dylan. Looks great in a pair of jeans.

The Blues - The very foundation for rock and roll. Real rock and roll, that is. Rock and roll as it used to be before MTV.

Banjos and violin or fiddles seem to give music that old time, backwoodsy family kinda feel. I remember when synthesizers were the thing! Ugh. Even back then I hated them. Stairway To Heaven? I think everyone and their mother can play this song on their guitar! hehe!

Great stuff!
