I decided to spend my Saturday afternoon at the University of Oregon campus and the surrounding neighborhood. I quite enjoyed it, except for a few minor things which I'll describe in a bit.
When I arrived down there, I went first to The Glenwood restaurant (after a quick trip to the bathroom at the Bookstore) for lunch. The place was pretty busy, but not entirely packed. I ordered the same thing I had the last time I was there - the Willamette burger with bacon and Tillamook cheddar. Unfortunately, I could only eat half of it and a few bites of the home fries, but that's how it goes sometimes. Next time, I think I might inquire about getting only half a burger unless I decide to get something else. Or, I could see if they'd knock a buck off to serve me the burger without sides. I really hate not being able to finish all my food.
While I was eating, the table diagonal from me was taken by a couple ladies and (I'm assuming) a cute little baby that belonged to one of them. The baby kept smiling and looking around, and lost his or her shoe at some point. That kept me entertained for a while as I waited for and ate my food.
After eating (and taking yet another bathroom break) I headed over to the Museum of Art. The previous day, it was visited by the Princess of Thailand! There was a little exhibit (paintings done by the King of Thailand himself!) so I checked that out, but not before checking out the latest featured exhibit - Roy Lichtenstein prints. They were quite amazing! I really like his use of patterns, textures and lines. My favorite piece, I think, was a big print that depicts a living room scene reflected in a mirror. He had to make EVERYTHING match!
After I left the museum, I started taking pictures of stuff around campus. I want to improve my macros, so I took a few shots of flowers and such. I also wanted to take photos of trees. I think I need to work on that because it's so dark under all those leaves. Unfortunately, my camera ran out of battery power while I was taking pictures! I changed the batteries, but I think my second set is drained too because the camera wouldn't work after that. So that ended my photography for the day. I'll post the photos I kept over the next couple days, and you can see them at my Flickr account.
After the sudden end to my photo session, I went to Espresso Roma for a smoothie. I hit the jackpot there! I ordered the 16 ounce mixed berry smoothie and I really enjoyed it! I could really taste the banana and the tang of the berries, and it was smooth as can be - no chunks of fruit at all. I rewarded the workers for the yummy goodness with a dollar tip.
Now I'm back home, and I'll be charging my batteries so I can get the camera issue sorted. I may have to get a better charger and batteries, because I bought a cheapo brand. I guess you get what you pay for, unless you only eat half your burger!

Sounds like a fun day. I always get UofO and OSU mixed up - are you near Portland or Eugene? I had one of the best years of my life up in that area. It sounds like a fun place to live, mabye I'll move back someday
The U of O is in Eugene and OSU is in Corvallis. I live in Eugene.
Duh, I knew that. I was wrong about Portland. I lived in Albany and my boyfriend lived in Eugene and we had a band that played in Portland and Eugene. I love Corvallis! All of this was so long ago i get mixed up :)
