I found this meme via Elfslut's Livejournal. I've been a bit bored today, so I thought I'd give it a shot.

Step One – Do your best to pick your top 10 favorite artists (at the time / of all time – doesn’t matter) – Please make your choices before you move on and please don’t come back up and change them once they are picked.

Your Mission
You will make 3 - 18 track mixes using only these artists. Each artist will appear on each disc – but they may not appear back to back. As for track’s 1 & 18 – once you use an artist in either of those spots – that artist may not be a track 1 or 18 again.

The first disc will be a quiet relaxing type mix – this is of course relative to the artists you pick – if you choose Pantera, Ministry, Metallica and Marilyn Manson – do your best.

The second disc will be the opposite as the first – loud rockin’ songs. Again, to the best of what your artists have to offer.

The third disc will be the Classics – you can put in whatever songs they are famous for or what songs that just make them special to you.

You are essentially creating a 3-point argument – "my favorites can" do soft songs – they can rock out – and they are undeniably special because of “this”.

The Auteur Rule
If you were to pick an artist such as Tom Petty – you may use both Tom Petty AND Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers – but NOT the Traveling Wilbury’s.
Another example – if you were to choose Ryan Adams – you can use both Ryan Adams AND Ryan Adams & the Cardinals – but NOT Whiskeytown.
And if you pick Tom Petty – you can use Tom Petty featuring Ryan Adams – but not Ryan Adams featuring Tom Petty only someone who picked Ryan Adams can use that one.
