Monday Music Mambo - 10/24/06

I'm late with the Monday Music Mambo, due to the concert last night, so here it is on Tuesday!

Do-it-yourself Day

1. If you could play any musical instrument, which would you choose?

I really love instruments, so this is a hard decision. I think I'd ultimately choose guitar, because a guitar player can fit into any musical situation.

2. If you started your own band, what kind of music would be played? How many members would there be, and what instruments would everyone play?

I love many styles of music, but I think I'd really love to start an Irish/Celtic pub band. We'd have a fiddle player (that would probably be me), guitar player, drummer, bodhran player, bagpiper, whistle and flute player, and maybe an accordion player as well. And a female singer with a gorgeous voice who would also be a second fiddler on the instrumentals. That makes . . . eight musicians! Oh, what fun we'd have on stage!

3. If you could manage an artist or band's career, which artist or band would you want to manage?

I wouldn't want to manage a big band, because that would be a huge hassle (which means I wouldn't be managing my own fantasy band!). I think I'd like to manage someone like Keri Noble or Gavin DeGraw. I'd want to manage someone up-and-coming with a dedicated fan base but without the super-stardom of a Madonna or a Britney Spears.

How good was the Natalie MacMaster concert last night? It was very, very good! I had a splendid time and enjoyed every minute!
