Top Five On Friday - 10/20/06

Today's Top Five on Friday is bittersweet. Sorry, my favorite artists, but I have to tell the truth!

Top Five Worst Songs by Your Favorite Artist(s)

I'm such a music fan that I have to include seven artists instead of five.

1) "Nil Cead Againn Dul Abhaile/We Cannot Go Home" by Afro Celt Sound System. I'm simply not a big fan of this song for some reason.

2) "Sur Le Pont De Lyon" by BeauSoleil. It's too monotonous and doesn't have much melody.

3) "Danny Boy" by Natalie MacMaster. It pains me to write anything bad about Natalie's work, but Michael McDonald takes this already-cheesy song and cheeses it up some more. Natalie's violin work is good, but not good enough to save this song. Sorry, Natalie! Nothing personal.

4) "Murder Suicide Meteor Slave" by Jeff Buckley. I just don't get this one. It's not even worthy of the songs that didn't come close to making it on Grace.

5) "Lily (My One And Only)" by Smashing Pumpkins. I think I've listened to this track in its entirety only once. I always skip to another song when it comes on.

6) "Blue Angel" by Roy Orbison. I've never been much of a fan of this one. It sounds too much like doo-wop, and doo-wop is incredibly dated.

7) "Can You See Me?" and "Ain't No Telling" by Jimi Hendrix. They're not bad songs by any means, but they're just not very interesting or daring.

Thanks for playing this week. Sometimes it hard to find a bad song from a band you like. I however am always harsh :)

Feel free to stop by and see my answers too :)
