Today's Monday Music Mambo is all about the New:

1. What album are you looking forward to purchasing this year, either physically or online?

Right now, the number one album on my wish list is "Nightcrawler" by Pete Yorn. I think I'll buy that sometime in February.

2. Which musical act do you hope will come to your town this year? If you know they're coming, even better!

I don't know who's coming here this year, but I hope Nickel Creek comes for one last show before they pack it in. I would also very much like a visit from BeauSoleil.

3. What is one musical trend you hope catches on in 2007?

I hope singing makes a comeback in 2007. I've had enough of the whiny emo-rockers and robotic pop-tarts.

On a personal note, it seems very, very strange to me that we are now at the year 2007. It doesn't feel all that long since we hit 2000, but here we are seven years later! Those seven years went by very quickly!
