I knew it!

It appears that John McCain has used John Mellencamp's "Our Country" during his campaign appearances.

I figured something like this would happen! "Our Country" is a song, much like "Born in the USA," that can be grossly misinterpreted because of its chorus. As soon as I heard it, I knew some politician would use it in this context. It's 1984 all over again.
