Faceplant

Facebook has redesigned, and I'm not happy with it.

What I liked about the old Facebook was the control I had over my profile. There were only a few boxes that stayed put. Everything else could be moved around at will. I decided what went on the page, and where.

The new Facebook uses a tab format. As far as I can tell, you cannot rename the tabs (unless you create a new one), nor can you move the tabs where you want them. Also, Facebook has randomly spread my boxes between the profile tabs. Now I have to move things to where I want them, if I can do that at all. Some of the boxes cannot be moved to certain tabs. Highly annoying.

When everything was on one profile page, I controlled what people saw first and what was hidden. Now, that control has been taken away. The things I want people to look at will be hidden off in other tabs or at the bottom of the page.

These are supposed to be personal profiles. If I can't decide what I want on my profile and where it should go, it's not that personal anymore.

Social networks are boring me lately as it is. I get tempted at times to just delete the profiles and stop wasting my time. Someday I may do that.
