Fixing the feeds

The concept of a 'blog' has changed so much over the years. The term used to refer to someone's online journal or collection of news stories. Today, it can be anything. There are blogs about horrible cakes. There are blogs that let you know the latest news about social sites. There are blogs by journalists, celebrities, and even fictional people.

Until now, I've had my RSS feeds categorized into 'blogs' 'news' and 'fun stuff,' the latter of which was all the non-personal blogs and entertainment blogs. Over time, though, I've had difficulty figuring where certain blogs should go. Is it really a blog if it's not about the writer's life?

I've done away with the general concept of 'blog' and re-organized my feeds on Bloglines. I now have folders for personal blogs, entertainment blogs (music, TV and movies), humorous blogs like Cake Wrecks, and a catch-all category for news blogs and blogs connected to websites and services. I'm sure I'll refine the categories as time moves along.

Hopefully this will be a better way of doing things. I do miss the large folders, but at least I'll be able to figure out where to put new feeds.

I don't usually 'catergorize' the blogs I usually read... but I never know how to pigeon-hole yours! lol
