The second meme for today is a new one, courtesy of Andrea and her new music blog The Music Memoirs. Apparently there will be a meme posted there several times a week, and today's topic is:

Top Five Albums People Wouldn't Believe You Own (Guilty Pleasures)

Here's my list.

1) Ashlee Simpson "Autobiography." It's not a bad album, but there's a lot of room for improvement. It's sad that she's getting a lot of flack for her SNL slipup and things of that sort, but I admire her for at least giving it a go and trying to make her musical dreams come true.

2) Avril Lavigne "Under My Skin." This isn't as guilty a pleasure as some others, but I still think some people look down on Avril because of her teenage approach to music and her "punk" image. She's never claimed to be a punk or even play punk music. She just likes to sing and make music based on what she likes. Her voice is gorgeous and she's got a bright future ahead of her.

3) "Club Cutz." This is a compilation album of various club hits, including the infamous Macarena. Yes, the Macarena. The other songs are pretty good though, and cmon people, I bought it in 1997! Give me a break lol. I could have sold it by now, but I'll keep it for the good stuff.

4) DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince "He's the DJ, I'm the Rapper." Yes, this is the rap duo featuring Will Smith. This album was made when they were still teenagers, and it's one of my favorites from my childhood. It's got some great, fun, hilarious songs and a few tracks where Jeff shows off his DJ skills. I mostly bought it for my memories of it when I was younger.

5) "Jock Jams" (a few of them). I actually had nearly a complete set of the Jock Jams series when I was in high school, and then sold them for cash a few years ago. My sister gave me some of hers last year, so now I have some of them again. Yeah they're cheesy, but they do have some awesome rap/r&b/club songs that were extremely popular when I was a teenager. I can take them or leave them, but they still have some great stuff and that makes them worth having.
