TGIF and happy New Year's Weekend, everyone! Here's the Top Five On Friday:

Top 5 Musical Resolutions

I'm going to do this by listing songs with titles and/or messages of things that we should all aspire to in the new year, and every year.

1) "Imagine" by John Lennon
2) "We Gotta Live Together" by Jimi Hendrix and the Band Of Gypsys
3) "Physical" by Olivia Newton-John. Losing weight would be SO much easier with her as the trainer!
4) "Bust A Move" by Young MC. Things get so serious sometimes, and you have to learn to relax and let it all go. What easier way than dancing?
5) "Let It Be" by The Beatles. Sometimes you just need to let it be - whether it's a quarrel with a friend or co-worker, or a negative opinion you're trying to push on someone, or the temptation to do something destructive. Paul McCartney is a smart man, and he was trying to tell us all something with this amazing song.

*update*

After seeing this meme done differently on other sites, here are my own top five musical resolutions for the new year:

1) Go to more concerts. I think I went to five this year, so hopefully I'll go see the same number next year. This all depends on who comes through town, of course.
2) Knock some more CDs off my list of albums that I need to buy. Shouldn't be a problem because I buy a few each month.
3) Check out my friends' musical recommendations in a more timely manner.
4) Check out the media's musical recommendations in a more timely manner. Most of the "hot" bands and musicians out there, I have never heard.
5) Buy Electric Ladyland (even if my buddy who is supposed to send it to me doesn't get it to me), as well as Revolver and The White Album. Or at least Revolver.

I did it the same way that you did the first time. Besides, I don't make resoolutions, 'cos I never keep them!
