Top Five On Friday - 7/20/07

Today's Top Five would be perfect for Take Me Back Tuesday too.

Top 5 bands that make you wonder "where are they now"

1) UB40. I think the world could still use some reggae covers of popular songs.

2) Marcy's Playground. They had one big hit with "Sex and Candy." I'd like to see them make a comeback with "Piercings and Roast Beef."

3) Kriss Kross. Are they still jumping? Still wearing their clothes backwards?

4) Ace of Base. That whole "Abba of the 90s" thing didn't really work out, did it?

5) Boyz II Men. They haven't had a hit in ages! I remember the days when you couldn't turn on the radio or TV without hearing one of their songs.

If you're wondering where the Smashing Pumpkins ("Today," "1979") are - they're back! Well, two of the original members, anyway.

Ace of Base managed to be 3 album wonders. They did a wonderful cover of Banarama's Cruel Summer. It's a shame they were a decent dance band...so was Roxette, but I think Roxette still records. At least in Europe.

How about Roxette?

And the Smashing Pumpkins sounded GREAT during that Live Earth wing ding. Best band of the Giants Stadium show!
