Top Five On Friday - 11/9/07

Top Five!

Top 5 albums that have been in your collection the longest.

1) One In A Million by Aaliyah. Ok, this sort-of count. I had it a very long time ago, late 90s. Then I gave it to someone, or sold it, something like that. But last year I got another copy. Technically, this album was in my collection before most of my other CDs.

2) He's the DJ, I'm the Rapper by DJ Jazzy Jeff and Fresh Prince. This was probably my favorite rap album of my childhood, and of course I bought it on CD later on. I should listen to this again sometime.

3) Nordic Roots. This is a sampler of modern Nordic folk music put out by label Northside. I bought it for $3 at the local Scandinavian Festival and it changed my life.

4) The Dirty Boogie by Brian Setzer Orchestra. I bought this used sometime during my first year of college.

5) Hits Unlimited by 2 Unlimited. This was the first CD I bought when I had my very own CD player. I haven't listened to it in years, but I remember enjoying it often back in the mid-90s.

Whatever happened to Will Smith?

He became an actor, kept putting out family-friendly rap songs, and was eventually adopted by Angelina Jolie.
