Tuesday Tunes - 1/15/08

Used CDs are the topic on today's Tuesday Tunes:

Do you ever buy CDs used? If so, where?

I do so whenever possible (unless I just feel like getting the disc new). I buy them at CD World, of course, and now I'll start looking at House of Records too.

Have you ever sold your CDs back at a used shop or a place like Half.com?

I've only done it a couple times. The first time I sold a bunch of older CDs I didn't care to own anymore and traded for my favorite album. The second time I sold a spare Elvis Costello CD that I didn't want. I only got $3.50 in trade-in value for it, and it was brand new! Oh well.

Have you ever been surprised to find a certain CD @ a used CD store?

I was very surprised to see Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band in the used section. I bought that one right away. Other surprises included Nightcrawler by Pete Yorn (which I was planning on getting anyway) and Mystery White Boy by Jeff Buckley.

What has been your best find @ a used CD store.

Lately, the best find was Live! From The Left Coast by BeauSoleil. It's rare to find a used BeauSoleil disc. I don't even think it was in the right category. Also, it's a gem of an album, really good stuff.

I still think the Green Linnet 25 Years of Celtic Music collection was a great find. It's a two-disc set! I bought it for a mere $8!

I can never quite control my rage when I see any Beatles CDs in a used CD shop. I mean...who doesn't like the Beatles?
