Top Five On Friday - 4/4/08

The Top Five is ready for your enjoyment:

Top 5 songs you wish had never been used in a TV commercial.

1) Any Beatles song (even if I enjoy hearing them). One in particular that should never have happened - "All You Need Is Love" turned into All You Need Is Luvs.
2) "Back In Black" for some cell phone commercial
3) "White Rabbit" in a video game commercial. It has nothing to do with the game, so why use it?
4) Not really a song, but music related: That Arby's commercial with the Riverdancing chimps. Irish step dancing is an old, proud, extremely difficult tradition, and I hate to see it (and the Irish in general) be mocked.
5) Again, not really a song: That commercial with Elvis Costello spazzing out in the back of a car while listening to classical music. Elvis, you have more dignity than that!

Nope no dignity for Elvis..or Diana for that matter, she did a commercial for Lexus too. Anything to get those twins through school, eh?

And yes, I agree with the All You Need Is Luvs. I forgot that one.

Every Elvis reissue album should come with a "Thank You for supporting Elvis Costello's kids" card.

I totally agree with you about #4.

As for #5, your description of it was way better than the actual commercial :)
