Interesting stuff in this week's (June 21, 2004) Sports Illustrated (Detroit Pistons are on the cover). This week is Oregon's turn in the "SI 50th anniversary" series. There's a lot of great Oregon sports facts and figures and highlights that many people might not know about before reading this issue. The big thing for me, though, is the photo of Alan Webb breaking the high school mile record at the 2001 Prefontaine track meet at Hayward Field. This photo is on page 39, and the reason it means a lot to me is because I'm in it!! You can't see me, but I was in that crowd that day on that side of the stadium. So that means I am somewhere in that crowd, in a national sports magazine!! How cool is THAT?
