Top Five On Friday - 9/28/07

Today's Top Five topic was created by me!

Top 5 CDs That You Bought Used

1) Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band by The Beatles. It's a classic, it's a must-own album, and I bought it on the cheap!

2) Green Linnet Records: 25 Years of Celtic Music. This compilation seemed just the thing to buy. It's full of good songs and good artists. Also, it's a two-disc set, and it was selling for the price of a regular used CD (they're usually around $7.95)! That's a deal I couldn't pass up.

3) Adore and Pisces Iscariot by Smashing Pumpkins. I bought both of these at a big used sale at CD World. The margin of victory by the UO football team was the percent taken off the regular used price. The victory margin was 45, so I bought these CDs for nearly half the original used price!

Interestingly, most of the Smashing Pumpkins CDs I own have been used. Only Siamese Dream, Mellon Collie and Zeitgeist were bought new.

4) Santiago by The Chieftains. I had been wanting to purchase this CD for ages, so I was excited when I saw it used for a little over $5. I didn't even buy it the first time I saw it for that price, but when I went back again a week later, it was still there. I snatched it up quick, not making the same mistake again.

5) 1 by The Beatles. Three of my Beatles albums have been used, and this is one of them. I didn't buy it in a store; rather, I bought it from my friend Jessica when she wanted to give away all her CDs. That counts as used, and this used disc is one of my favorites.
