Last week I got tagged to do a music meme on here, and in return I tagged some other people to play. This week, however, it seems there's a growing backlash against the "tag someone else to do this" style of memes. So I gotta apologize to those I tagged! I'm glad you all played along, but I wouldn't have been upset if you didn't. From now on, I'll keep away from those memes. I don't mind doing them myself, but I won't be doing any tagging.

As for last night's post, I think I ought to keep things in perspective. The majority of the reviews I've read, at least on Amazon, are positive about the Audioslave album. Only about one in four or five of the reviews are negative. I really should stop reading those negative reviews, but it just bothers me when people say bad things about music I like. I'm referring more to the people who go into specifics or say the album is "boring," not the people who just don't like it for whatever reason. I am, though, quite confused by the review from Pitchfork. It's not even a review at all! It's just the author quoting lyrics from the album in a mock-conversation style. Uhh, hello, why don't you actually talk about the MUSIC instead of trying to be funny? A person reading that review hasn't the slightest idea if the album is good or bad when he or she finishes reading it.

In other, you-probably-don't-care news, I've finally managed to put the majority of my bookmarks and links from my blog into my account on the Yahoo! My Web service. For those that don't know, My Web is a new service from Yahoo! in beta release that saves any web link you put into the system. You can organize the links into folder, share them with others, and more.

The main point of the service is that your links are accessible from any computer, not just your own. If you're at Aunt Mildred's and want to check someone's blog and you can't find the link, you can just log into My Web and find it there. Word to the wise, though: It works best with the Yahoo! Toolbar which I believe is only available for Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox. I highly recommend Firefox anyway, and I definitely recommend the Yahoo! Toolbar if you're a frequent Yahoo! services user like I am. If you don't have the Yahoo! toolbar you can use a bookmarklet that Yahoo! provides, although it doesn't give you the option of saving the page. I don't know how you'd use My Web from a computer with no Yahoo! Toolbar, but I suppose you could just email the link to yourself for later saving. That's what I would do.

Anyhow, I now have most of my links in there now. At this point, I'll only have to add newly saved sites. When I bookmark a site, I just add it to My Web at the same time. It's very convenient. As Yahoo! develops the service, hopefully they'll make a way to add sites without the Yahoo! Toolbar. For now, if you have the Yahoo! Toolbar, you're good to go.

OK that's all I have for now. Maybe later I'll find something else to talk about, otherwise I'll be back tomorrow with my Friday memes.
