Last night, right before going to bed, I started to think about the fact that it's rare to see bass players sing lead in rock bands. Off the top of my head, I've thought of four: Sting, Jack Bruce, Paul McCartney and Gene Simmons. Beyond just making an interesting list of bass players who sing lead vocals, I may someday make a mix CD if I can find enough of them who exist.
Anyone got any bass dudes to add to the list? Leave a comment! Let's make the definitive list of bass players who are also singers.

John Taylor from Duran Duran. He may not be the lead singer of that band, but he's done some great solo stuff in the years that he wasn't in the band.
Oh and another John. John Lodge, bassist for the Moody Blues.
Thanks Andrea! I just thought of another one, so obvious that I should have thought of it sooner: Robby Takac from the Goo Goo Dolls!
