I wanted to wait a while and see if it was really true, and I think enough time has passed for me to finally post about it.
Our oldest cat, Midnight, has probably gone to kitty heaven. The past few weeks she's had a little wound on her head that was getting worse and worse. We were going to take her into the vet on Thursday morning. I think she took care of the problem for us, because she didn't come home on Wednesday, Thursday or today. This is not her normal behavior, so we're assuming she isn't coming back.
I loved that little cat. She wasn't always the most friendly cat in the world, but in the past few years I've bonded with her. She was old though, about 14 years, so her time was coming soon.
Rest In Peace, Midnight. You were a good cat and I'll always love you.

awwww, that's so sad. poor kitty. what happened to her eye?
I can't remember when her eye got like that, but it was that way for a few years. I don't think it affected her vision, but you never know.
