This Wednesday, I'm going to go see Keri Noble in concert a second time! I first saw her as the opening act for Jonny Lang in March, and now she's coming here again all by herself. I'm sure it will be a great concert. It's going to be a smaller show, so that will make things all the more exciting.
Here's the Monday Music Mambo:
Time to chase away the Monday blues with the Monday Music Mambo and by celebrating Carousel Day. In 1871 William Schneider of Davenport, Iowa, invented the Merry-Go-Round. Wow, that's 134 years ago. Sounds like the carousel has been around (heh heh) a long time. Ready? Let's dance, dance, dance!
01. What artist, group, song(s) or lyric(s) do the following words bring to mind: wheel, spin, up, down, horse
Wheel - "Wheel In The Sky" by Journey
Spin - "You Spin Me Round" by.....some 80s group.
Up - "Up Up Up" by the Goo Goo Dolls
Down - "Down With The Sickness" by Disturbed
Horse - "Beer For My Horses" by Toby Keith and Willie Nelson
02. You are the mastermind behind a rock-n-roll theme park. Name the park. What would your theme park's mascot be? Create a couple of rides, name them and describe them. Who would record the theme song for your theme park?
The park would be named "Land of the Melted Faces." There is only one choice for park mascot - KISS!! One ride would be the "Fender Coaster" and it would be a roller coaster that rides around on a giant Stratocaster. Another ride would be "Electric Ladyland" and it'd be a Pirates of the Caribbean type of ride where you'd ride along a long, winding tunnel while Hendrix tunes were blasted out of the walls and all sorts of trippy light shows surrounded you. A third ride would be based on Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.
There would be a theater complex playing all sorts of documentaries and movies including Woodstock and, of course, This Is Spinal Tap.
There are many bands that would be good to record the park theme song, but I think I'd choose Aerosmith for the honors. In fact, the gates to the park would be modeled after Steven Tyler and Mick Jagger's lips. AND: Last Girl On Earth, Deni Bonet would play violin and accordion on the theme song! She'd also be a roaming musician in the park, sharing her music and making everyone happy.
03. Carousels traditionally play the same songs over and over. Is there a song that you could listen to endlessly?
"Sweet Home Alabama" and "Little Wing" are two songs I could listen to over and over.

Damn it Russ! I was hoping you would let ME record your theme park theme song! LOVE the name of your park! How can I book a gig there?

Love your hump! That's some music acumen you've got there. I really enjoy your humping. Your theme park is truly brilliant!
As always, thanks for playing -- you're one of the few faithful in which case it's fine by us since quality humpin' is better than quantity humpin'! *wink*
Did I say hump? I meant mambo'ing! Must have more coffee! lol
YIPPEEE!!! When do I start? (Thanks for adding me. I couldn't work for a better boss!)
BTW, Did I ever tell you that I got to know Keri Noble? She was one of the opening acts for Cyndi Laupeer when I was touring with her last year. She's really great. If you DO get to talk to her or her band, please tell them that I said hi!
