I'm back from the camping trip!

The trip was pretty good - not great. It would have been great if there weren't so many INSECTS flying around! I especially hate the bugs that follow you around as if they've picked you out for their prey. It's kind of hard to have fun if you're constantly watching for bugs, but that's how it goes.

We left bright and early Saturday at 7 AM and got to the reseivor around 9:45. We stayed at Craine Prarie Reseivoir in Deschutes County, Oregon. We used to go there every summer when I was a kid, so it was cool going back there again.

We unloaded the truck, and shortly thereafter I started taking pictures. I really hope they turn out looking good. We then cooked up some lunch, and headed out on the fishing boat. Our dog, Chloe, just loves riding in the boat. She's getting braver about moving around in it. My dad did some fishing while we relaxed and tried to stay in the shade. We saw a bald eagle up in a tree with binoculars, and it was big!

After the boat ride, we just hung around camp until dinner time. My sister cooked up bacon cheeseburgers and mine was delicious! Then it was time for another boat ride. That ride was even better than the first because the sun was setting. The lake was so quiet and still, except for the little waves that kept crashing against the boat. They made a soothing sound as they hit. The lake was gorgeous and the temperature was just right. It was very relaxing and I loved it. My dad caught a tiny little bass on that trip, and of course threw it back. Chloe got very excited when she saw it!

We came back to camp, set up a fire, and listened to music until bedtime. I got to have my own tent, and I enjoyed sleeping in there. I kept as warm as I could with my clothes and blanket. I was really only cold early in the morning, and the rest of the time I was too sleepy to care.

Today, we ate a pancake and bacon breakfast, and did more boating and fishing. Then we hung out around camp for a while until it was time to pack everything up and get going again. We stopped at Salt Creek Falls on the way back, and I took some more pictures. The falls are very beautiful and powerful and look like something out of Lord Of The Rings.

Now we're back home, getting clean and settling back in to the daily grind! I enjoyed the trip, even though the bees and yellow jackets freaked me out the whole time. Even so, I'm not ready to do it again just yet. I enjoy being right here at home more than anything.
