Here's the second edition of my new blog feature!
Flickr Fun Saturday: Mountains of the Pacific Northwest
One of Oregon's top attractions is Mt. Bachelor. Here's a pretty shot of it, and another, both by the same photographer. This shot shows you the mountain compared to the road, so you can see the scale of it. Snowboarding is a popular activity to do up there, as well as the old favorite sport of skiing.
Another of Oregon's mountains, probably the most well-known, is Mt. Hood. Here's a really cool vintage-looking shot of the mountain. For a modern view, check out this amazing view of the mountain top. Finally, two shots of Mount Hood from the city of Portland: A good one here, and a really spectacular, colorful shot here.
Our neighbor to the north, the state of Washington, has some awesome mountains as well. None are more famous than the majestic Mount Rainier. This shot is quite interesting, with all the snow-covered trees below the huge mountain top. The sun and clouds create some very pretty colors against Rainier in this beautiful shot. There are so many great Mt. Rainier shots on Flickr! Shots like this, and this, and this, and this. Had enough? Here's one more shot of Rainier from the city of Seattle. I've been up to that area and, believe me, Mt. Rainier is just as amazing in reality as it looks in these photos.
That's all I'll throw at you this week. If you like this feature, let me know in the comments! I hope these photos bring you as much joy as they have brought me.
