I've been using my new camera quite a bit lately, testing out different settings and trying to get the best pictures I can. I thought I'd share some tonight.
This is a macro shot of a bowl of fruit we have in the kitchen. I've discovered that, with enough light, flash-less macro shots turn out great! That's a good thing, because you're not really supposed to use flash with macro.
I like to find new angles and ways to take pictures of things. I also love taking pictures of tree branches. This is one such photo I took earlier today. You should really look at it in its large size on the Flickr page (go to the "all sizes" link) because it's quite beautiful.
Of course, pet shots are always popular. I took this shot of Iggy at night. It's a little blurry, but not too bad for a night shot.
Last but certainly not least, a sunset.
After exploring my camera quite a bit, I've learned some things about it and about taking the best shots.
- A tripod is always good for night shots, or shots that have low light.
- You'll find out what your picture looks like the best when it's uploaded to the computer. The better it looks on the LCD screen, the better it will look on the computer.
- The LCD screen doesn't work too well in the sunlight. Taking 2 or 3 shots of something is a good idea. You can always delete the ones you don't like and keep the best.
- As long as there's room on the memory card, you can shoot as many times as you need to so you can get the best shot. If you don't like what you took, just take the shot again. This does not apply, obviously, to moving objects, people and animals.
My Flickr photostream, just as a reminder, is at http://www.flickr.com/photos/rfduck/

Thanks for the tips, I got a tripod with the new camera I ordered. :-D Beautiful photos, I love the second one and the last one...of course the kitty one too. The fruit bowl shows incredible detail and I like the shine on the fruit.
