Happy Friday! Mine is good so far, except for rainy weather. Here's the Top Five On Friday:

Top 5 album covers

I'm not up to speed on the greatest covers of all time, so this will be from my collection.

1)

David Gray - Life In Slow Motion
What a beautiful glacier scene! It goes perfect with David's low-key piano and guitar songs.

2)

Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness
This is just a beautiful cover. It has a sort of Victorian feel to it. The artwork on the liner notes is quite beautiful too, if a bit weird. This is the best designed Smashing Pumpkins album.

3)
JPP - String Tease
I couldn't dare think of making a list like this and leaving out one of the Northside Records covers. They're all beautifully made, but I particularly like this blue white gray and black cover. JPP is a fiddle dance band from Finland, by the way.

4)
Lunasa - Otherworld
It's green, it's watery - it's Irish all the way. The gorgeous Lunasa logo is a nice touch too.

5)
The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
What, you expected something else?

This week I actually have a couple Honorable Mentions

Jeff Buckley - Live At Sin-e (either the E.P. or the Legacy Edition).
You can't see it too well in this picture, but the cover is a perfect moment - Jeff getting ready to perform while the cafe patrons sip their coffee and completely ignore him. Little did they know history was about to be made.

Audioslave - Out Of Exile
It's a very pretty computer-generated image of dark, dark water. I can't help but stare at it.

Those are some of my favorite album covers. I have many more, but none as good as the above.

I really think I'm one of the only people that didn't have Sgt Pepper on my list.
