I went out to the University again today. I spent four years and graduated there, and I still can't get enough. It's pretty much my second home.
First I stopped by Quiznos for lunch. I wanted to try their new Double-Stack Pastrami sandwich. I purchased the regular size and it set me back $7. For that price, you can bet I ate the whole thing! Well, 98 percent of it. So how is it, you ask? It's not bad! It's full of juicy meat and pickles, and has a pretty good mustard sauce. It gives the sandwich a kick. You can't really taste the cheese, though, but when can you on a Quiznos sub? I think it's there for texture, not taste. I really enjoyed it, and I think I'd order another. If I wanted to spend at least $5 for lunch, that is.
I walked around the bookstore for a while to let my lunch settle, then headed over to the Art Museum to see their new MFA students' exhibit. It's quite interesting, to say the least! It's a bit noisier than other exhibits. I don't know how the older folks can stand it. There's some interesting stuff there - glittering hanging cloth, giant night photos of a deer in someone's backyard, and even a set of refrigerators, one of which has a computer inside! Some of the stuff will make you wonder what the artist was thinking, and other stuff you'll simply enjoy. I'm going to go back there again soon and see more.
After that, I spent an hour taking more pictures. Once I got myself away from the library area, I focused on the back of the library, the Education building and the Music building. I also found a sign that says the Pioneer Cemetary is private property, but I'm not sure how well that's enforced because people go through there all the time. No one's ever bothered me when I've been in there, at least. Hopefully they do allow photographers in there, because if they don't then that will deprive me of a wealth of photographic subjects.
After about an hour of that, I headed back home. The photographs have been uploaded and the best selected. I'll upload them to Flickr over the next week or so. I want to slow it down a bit, give people a time to breathe between photo postings.
That was my day. It's always good to get out there to the U of O and just walk around. I'll try to go other places soon, though. I don't want to deprive myself of other potential places to take photos.
