I spent the morning at the record store, choosing new music to buy.
What I got:
- "Her Infinite Variety: Celtic Women In Music and Song." This is a 2-CD set by Green Linnet Records with, as you'd expect, songs with female vocals and instrumentals by bands with women in lead roles. I actually bought this for Jess for Christmas or Valentine's Day or some holiday in the past year. I can't remember which one, but I did buy it for her. I thought it sounded so good that I'd get a copy of my own. I saw it in the store today and just had to pick it up while it was still there.
- "Morning View" by Incubus. I used to have this CD, but my sister lost the case for it so I just gave it to her. I'm pretty strict about keeping the cases and liner notes, and I didn't want a liner note-less CD. CD World has a new batch of $8.99 sale CDs and this was one of them. There was no way I could walk out of the store without it.
- "Metallica" by Metallica. The Black Album. I've already heard "Morning View" (although I don't remember what some of the songs sound like), so I wanted to get something else too. I saw The Black Album in the used section and decided to get it while I could. You never know when or if it will be sold used again.
Other CDs I considered: "Greatest Hits" by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers; "Four" by Blues Traveler"; "Whatever and Ever Amen" by Ben Folds Five. I went for Metallica though, because it's a CD I really wanted to have.
