There was a time when I didn't have much interest in reading books about music. I thought I'd have a better time actually LISTENING to the music than just reading about it. Now, though, I rather enjoy music-related books. They're incredibly interesting, and they give me a better understanding of the musicians and the music that I read about. Also, I get extremely curious about the songs I read about, which is a good way to discover new stuff.

I'm reading the book "Caught In The Crossfire" about guitar legend Stevie Ray Vaughan. It's very interesting so far and gives a good background about the Texas music scene that Stevie came up through. Right now I'm in the part of the book where "Texas Flood" has just been released, the band is touring and Stevie is becoming more and more famous with every radio spin of "Pride and Joy." It'll be interesting to see where the book goes from here and to read about how Stevie handled his newfound fame. Not very well, from what I know of his history. Anyway, I'm enjoying the book very much and recommend it to those of you who are guitar, blues, or SRV fans.
