Time again for a post where I actually say something. So Michael Jackson was acquitted of all charges yesterday. I'm happy for him, but I do hope someone in his circle of handlers and friends will wise up and keep him away from children who are not his. There really isn't any reason why he should be around kids he doesn't know. I understand he wants to help them, but there are many ways to do that without any personal contact. That was ok 20 years ago, but after not one but two accusations of molestation I think it's time for Michael to start hanging around people closer to his own age. If he indeed has any of his previous fortune left, he can use that to help kids by donating to charities and hospitals and that sort of thing.
Sad news today for Eugene music fans: another downtown live music venue has closed down. The Cafe Paradiso on Broadway shut down mostly due to decreased business. That decrease was brought on partially from panhandlers, transients and drug dealers hanging around near the cafe. I never went there myself, but I do know that it was a place where lesser-known acts could often be seen. I'm very sad to see it close and I hope maybe someone else will open up a similar cafe where acts too small to fill the McDonald or the Shedd can perform.

I really think he needs some help - whether he's really innocent or not, there is so much wrong with him. I know he had a rough childhood.
