Welcome to the pond

If you've got a spare minute, hour, whatever - I think you should go check out wicked_wish's post about the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The post itself is very well written, and the many comments talk about things that you may not have thought of before. Things like how it really is for many people in places like New Orleans, what people need to do during an evacuation, and how the will to survive is stronger than respect for man-made laws against theft of property. There's obviously a lot of talk about this disaster in the media, but it's awesome to hear viewpoints of REAL people who have gone through crap like this before.
